New to RSG as of January 2017!
As coaches we are constantly tracking your child's skill progress and it may seem like top secret information, but it's not.  Now you can track your child's skill progression too.  We are excited to extend this to our families.
How does it work?
To find out how your child is progressing, log onto MySkillChart.com using the email address that RSG has on record for you as your username.
When your child is first loaded into the system, you will receive an e-mail from myskillchart.com with a temporary password.  If you didn't get this, or forgot it, just tell it that you forgot your password and another one will be issued to you.
OK, I'm in.  Now what does all of this mean?
At RSG we are firm believers that everyone progresses at their own pace.  We want all of our athletes to be successful and the curriculum is designed to be a self-paced, stair step approach to learning the essential, solid, basic skills that your athlete will build on for years to come.  We will work progressive skills on a skill-by-skill basis so that the athletes are constantly working “the next step” regardless of what overall level they are in.  This means that if your gymnast is in the Pink/Orange class she will very likely be working skills from levels Pink, Orange, & Yellow in the same class period.  This is reflected in the online skill chart where you will see a drop down menu at the top right hand corner that could have multiple colors listed.  The color level of the most advanced skill they have tried is listed on top, with the lower levels underneath.

Listed under each piece of apparatus is a list of skills followed by 3-4 stars.  Skills with 4 stars are specific skills that must be tested and mastered in order for the gymnast to move to the next level.  All 4 stars skills must be passed in order to move up levels.
         1 star - I've tried it
         2 stars - I almost have it
         3 stars - I've got it!
4 stars - I've got it and passed testing on it.

Paper skill sheets are updated by our coaches on a daily basis but, at this time, the online skill sheets will only be updated once a month.
How does the level system work?
Gymnastics
All gymnasts start in level Pink and progress through levels Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, & Purple before moving on to various levels of the upper level Competitive Team.  If your gymnast is new to RSG, please be patient with us as we get to know your gymnast better and place them into the level that fits them best.  We are always looking to place your gymnast in the class where she will be most successful and successfully challenged.  Please note that other gyms have similar but different programs in place and they will not all be the same.

Each level has 100+ skills that your gymnast will be working on over her time in class.  There are around 40 skills in each level that must be tested and mastered in order for the gymnast to move up to the next level.  Testing is done, as needed, on an individual basis so there is not need to wait for a specific testing date.  Due to the progressive nature of the skills, ALL skills on the test for each level must be passed before moving up.  Each gymnast that passes a level will receive a level certificate.

Once your gymnast has reached level Yellow, you will have to option to become part of our traveling competitive team.  WY Gymnastics competitive season is October - March so there are optimal times in which to join the competitive team.  If you are interested in being part of the competitive team, please talk to your coach(es).

Ninjas

All ninjas start in level White and progress through levels, Yellow, Green, & Blue.  Each level of ninja has roughly 35 skills, ~15 of which must be tested and mastered in order to move up to the next level.  Testing is done, in class, about every 2 months.  When a ninja has passed their test, (s)he is invited to a Mission which, when successfully completed, (s)he will move up and be awarded the next level headband.
